"Get ready--new babies bring lots of changes and surprises. What changes? What surprises? Let's find out."

This book is Babies 101, a remarkably comprehensive look at everything a waiting sibling might wonder about--what babies do (and don't do), what they eat (and can't eat), and how happy and proud your child will feel to be a big brother or sister (but not always). Danzig, a neonatal and pediatric nurse and educator, handles the question of where babies grow (and how they get out) with clarity. Although this book's "default setting" is the biological family, Danzig thoughtfully mentions adoption, in the text and in the "Parents' Tips" at the back of the book.

Reviewed by Kay Marner, a freelance writer, who's a mom by birth and adoption. She lives with her family in Ames, Iowa.
