Barb Holtan is executive director
of AdoptUSKIDS, a project of the Federal Department of Health and Human
Services’ Children’s Bureau, dedicated to implementing a national
adoptive family recruitment and retention strategy, operating the AdoptUSKids.org
website, encouraging and enhancing adoptive family support organizations,
and conducting a variety of adoption research projects. She has worked professionally
in the field of adoption since 1980, most recently as the executive director
of Tressler Lutheran Adoption Services, a program that focuses on finding
families for waiting children. Barb and her husband Andy are parents of
five children, all now grown, three of whom joined them by adoption as older
children and two by birth.
