Lansing Wood, co-editor of Adoption
and the Schools, has been involved in the world of adoption since she
first became an adoptive parent in 1982 and joined FAIR (Families Adopting
in Response), and has been a leader in FAIR ever since. Trained as a social
worker with a group work specialty, she also hold’s a master’s
degree in social service administration, but derives her adoption expertise
from her own blended family of grown adopted and birth children and the
shared experiences of hundreds of other adoptive families and children.
She serves as a state representative for the North American Council on Adoptable
Children (NACAC), and represented adoptive parents on the Governor’s
Adoption Policy Advisory Council in California. Lansing is a master trainer
for Kinship Center’s Adoption Clinical Training Program.
