Holidays We've combed through our archives and assembled a great set of holiday activities, including traditions, recipes, and gift giving ideas that honor our children's beginnings. From guidelines for gift-giving in open adoptions to a delicious recipe for Chinese Almond Cookies, you'll find it here.
Words From the Heart In this year-end issue, as our gift to readers, we included a special pullout booklet featuring 14 of our favorite warm, funny, honest, brave, compelling, inspiring personal adoption writing. But for each essay we chose, there were several others we loved as well. On this page, we share the many wonderful pieces that did not fit our pages in the magazine.
Giving Back In the spirit of the season, Adoptive Families asked readers to nominate worthy nonprofit organizations working for the good of children around the world, and online retailers who donate a portion of their proceeds to charitable causes. We only had room to feature a few in the November/December issue of the magazine, but here are the complete lists.
2006 Adoption Calendars
Each year, Adoptive Families rounds up a list of adoption-themed calendars. Here the list for 2006.
Cost of Adoption Survey
As you may know, many families who might adopt do not because of concerns about the expense. Help us document the real cost of adoption by completing the survey below.
Raising Adoption Awareness
During National Adoption Month this November, we urge you to foster positive and accurate thinking about adoption in your community. On our outreach page, we provide information and activity ideas to get your started.
